Microframe Toolkit

Mark Lee edited this page Jun 29, 2018 · 4 revisions

The Microframe Management Toolkit integrates with Microframe network enabled visual pagers. It allows for updating signs by category and works with cloud based and hosted systems.

Installing the plugin will add a new page to Admin Tools> Installed Plugins.

Sign Categories

Before setting up your signs you should create categories for your signs to reside in. When sending codes to signs, you will actually send codes to categories and not individual signs. A sign can be in more than one category. Examples of categories includes: "All Signs", "South Campus", "Adult Bible Study Classrooms"

Signs

This is where you will set up your individual signs in Rock. You will need to configure each visual pager with your network information before adding it to Rock. You will need to enter the IP address, port (9107 is default), and PIN. You will need to select which categories the sign belongs to here.

If you are using a cloud based or paid hosting solution you will need to do additional work to get Rock to communicate with your signs. A VPN option can be possibility. Additionally you could create separate ports for each of your signs and then have your network route each sign to the appropriate visual pager. The configuration and security of your network is a topic beyond the scope of this document.

Microframe Pager

This page allows you to send codes to the pagers. Select a category on the left then on the right you can add codes to the pagers of that category. Clicking the X beside a code will remove it from the pagers.

Update Pager Job

By default the pagers will show a code for about 42 minute before auto clearing. This is preconfigured in the visual pagers themselves. If the signs auto clear, the Microframe Management Toolkit will not be notified and will keep the code displayed long after all the pagers have cleared. This plugin includes a job that you can set up to automatically keep Rock and the visual pagers in sync.
