I've been working today on search-line instructions to be inserted under the search lines for the various database fields, so I've been test-driving a lot of searches. I have one question about Manuscript searches. At one point I requested that these searches include title rather than just call number and description, and then for some reason I didn't include it in my Feb. 4-5 list. I know most manuscripts do not have a title, but for those that do, an unusual title - e.g. Lusus seniles – is likely how the ms will be remembered by me or any other user. Someone might also want to search to see if certain terms like “Anecdote” are in titles – or even how many untitled mss there are.
Would it be possible to include title in the ms searches?
Obviously a search for a title word like “Poems” would turn up a huge amount since the term is also in descriptions. Would it make sense for there also to be an exact search (“ “) for titles, as there is for call nos. now?
