We need a test bench for being able to interact with different suggestions rapidly to determine the best way to present them to the user, either in Paratext or in SF. Therefore, a light-weight python app that can handle suggestions would be very helpful.
Built off of Serval App tech stack
Same (or separate) app
Use Auth0 creds to login, use email to start project and keep track of project, as in Serval App
Stage 1:
Build SMT engine, use Machine.js and draft a chapter of a book, one line at a time
Incremental update or retrain possible
Experiment with different UI's for ease of use
Stage 2:
Download or email drafts as USFM, etc.
Stage 3:
Integrate with NMT suggestions, as they come out, be able to switch or potentially merge results
Objectives:
Establish qualitative quality of SMT vs NMT vs merged suggestions
Determine best UI for using suggestions
Give to translators to assess which is best with different languages and tech experiance
Feed data to SF or use it to create a Paratext 9.x or Paratext.Bible app.
