If you start in low rez then switch to st-med using the cmd "rez st-med"
and then issue a shell cmd, e.g. "! mem"
after returning from the shell cmd the number of columns has switched to 40
workaround: switch to low rez then back to med

After executing a shell command, vim checks the current shell size. We always got the size from the env vars, but if the resolution is changed this will be wrong
