Hi,
It would be great if ASynk would support CardDAV so that people could use whichever host they desired and not just Google. In particular bbdb to CardDAV would be cool. . .

This has been suggested before, but I do not have the bandwidth at the moment to take this up. If you have any significant CardDAV experience and would like to hack on ASynK, I can provide inputs on how to go about it. The datastore / protocol side of the system is modular and independent of the synchronisation logic. And we have three datastore implementation to act as models to guide development of further backends.

Fair enough. I would like to look into it, but at the moment my schedule is also rather full. . .

I took a quick look at carddav, and got sucked into it. I have released experimental support for CardDAV. Check out the code on the carddav branch: https://github.com/skarra/ASynK/tree/carddav

I would love to hear how it works for you. If you have comments or questions on this, you can post on the mailing list at: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/asynk
