A non-standards-compliant server will dominate this client if we don't patch

I was thinking it might be a good idea to introduce a suite of unit tests for 
the client's IRC parser and to determine how well it responds to commands. We 
might be able to incorporate this as a plugin itself, and even include fuzz 
testing as a part of the suite.
