@jvines Sorry you're having troubles. Looking at the error message for a plain
Do you have zlib installed on your system? If so, can you tell use the path at which those files are located? |
Since it's been a few weeks without a response to the above question from the OP, I'm going to add the |
Hi @flavorjones |
I can't get nokogiri to build either. This has destroyed my copy of Metasploit. The log file has said that it cannot access C library functions, but gcc isn't having any trouble. I sure hope this problem gets fixed soon so I can reinstall Metasploit. It used to work, but then nokogiri was updated, and now it doesn't. Yes, I have zlib. |
@Trenix25 Sorry you're having trouble, please open a new issue and provide the information requested in the issue template. Thanks. |
@jvines Thanks for that info, I'll take a look when I'm back in front of a computer. |
I am facing the same error while deploying to heroku (stack 18), local it's working properly.

@jvines The source of the issue is related to these lines in your logs:
There have been similar problems reported, e.g. #1690 that ended up being related to users having a mix of 32- and 64-bit libraries installed (via macports and/or brew). Can you take a look at whether this is the case on your system? |
@md-farhan-memon It seems unlikely you're encountering the exact same problem. Please open a new issue and follow the reporting template for installation problem if you need assistance. |
@jvines I'm curious if you were able to look into your system's configuration? I'll close this in a few days if I don't hear back. |
Hi @flavorjones , I'm not sure how to check if I have different architecture libraries installed. All I know is I've only installed them through Homebrew. How can I look into this further? |
@jvines Unfortunately I am a Linux user and have no idea how Mac package management works. Maybe start by investigating this:

I've got the same issue with msys on windows. |

Hi
I'm trying to install nokogiri on OS X Mojave 10.14.5. I have XCode version 10.3
If I run
gem install nokogiri
I get the following output:If I run
gem install nokogiri -- --use-system-libraries
I get the following output:The outputs of
mkmf.log
are, respectively:I tried using custom libraries, as per your tutorial, but I always get either the missing libxml2 or the missing zlib errors.
Could you help me, please?
Thanks.
Jose V.
