How do we deal with servers? I can understand that they are an unnecessary detail for users, but for the health of the project I wouldn't want to have a single official server with several unofficial ones. The other option (randomly choose a server) also might not be in the spirit of Electrum. But I suppose now that we've added server selection to the lite GUI (and reduced the hassle with switching servers), selecting a random server is probably the way to go. Currently in the source we have a few hardcoded servers. I guess a good rule of thumb for getting included by new servers is 2 weeks, no downtime. Well I dunno. Undecided on how to handle this best. Maybe a default server is the best idea actually. I've been using uncle-enzo.info which is reliable. |

closing this. I am now pretty happy with the install wizard, even if it's not divided in two screens as porposed in the OP |
Added coindesk BPI rate calculation for transaction values in history. Coindesk currently only provides this functionality for USD, so it is only available when the Coindesk and USD combination has been selected.

- AddressList can now no longer update more than once per second to save on app CPU thrashing when updating labels - So at this time the following tabs are rate-limited to at most once per second for upates: HistoryList, UTXOList, AddressList. These 3 are by far the most costly to update (with HistoryList usually being spesmilo#1), so this rate limit makes sense. - Turned off updates for the above tabs for a wallet window that is closed and/or about to be gc'd (as updates make no sense then anyway and just waste CPU needlessly).
Reverted Wine build to use less of host FS -- was too slow on macOS

We did it this way because building the pyscard module off of PyPI requires some annoying prerequisites (such as swig3) which I would rather not add to the build scripts. As a new user when I boot the application for the first time I want to see a setup wizard.
The wizard screen is divided into two screens. On the left-side will be a information panel describing what we are doing during this step and on the right-side will be room for interacting with the wizard in various ways.
The first dialog is a general introduction to electrum and it's features and an introductory text about bitcoin wallets and what they are used for.
The next dialog would explain why we need to encrypt the generated wallet with the password input on the right side.
The third dialog would display the generated seed and 12 words on the right hand side and on the left hand side could be a little story about what those words represent tying into the previous stories about wallets.
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
