Like the title states. I love your app (appstarter) but I'm having trouble updating to the newest version of SPMC with your app. It just creates a new SPMC app instead of updating mine. It also is a blank app with none of my settings or add ons. I've tried multiple times. Just wanted to let you know and hopefully there may be a fix. Thank You!

Sorry I should elaborate. I meant to say that it created a "second" SPMC app instead of updating mine. It didn't overwrite it. From my understanding it should update my existing SPMC app and keep all my settings and add ons. I've just been Uninstalling the new app it creates and have tried everyday for about 5 days now hoping it was just a glitch.

Have been a huge fan of this app and developer since it was originally introduced as FireStarter then evolved to FireStopper and currently AppStarter.
Just like stachemagoots, I love this app's ability to update Kodi and SPMC by overwriting the existing version and leaving all user data intact.
I have two original FireSticks and two original FireTvs. All attempts on these devices to update SPMC from v16.5.5 to v16.5.80 have resulted, as stachemagoots has already reported, in the creation of a second completely fresh SPMC app instead of updating the existing app.
I too have removed all the additionally created unconfigured SPMC apps in the desperate hope that there may perhaps please be a greatly appreciated fix for this in the not too distant future.

Perhaps I should have added that I don't know if this also happens with attempts to update Kodi - I am currently on Kodi 16.1 and there has, as yet, not been a stable release of Kodi 17. Therefore I have been unable to test the Kodi update system on AppStarter.

Hey Danita1.... Just figured I'd let ya know what I ended up doing. I wanted to wait to see if there would be a fix, but then again I hated to run on old software in case there were security risks. I ended up backing up my build, shortcuts, add ons, add on data, guides settings, etc with an app called "USB-SD CARD WIZARD". I got it from the Xunity Maintenence repo. I previously tried a different backup add on from Xbmc but had no luck using it before. The usb-sd wizard worked perfect though, you just have to use an SD card. If you need addition help you can reach out to me. I went ahead and updated Spmc again and let it create the second Spmc app and then I restored my own build onto the new Spmc add on.

Problem is that even if you select "stable" in the settings under "Kodi Update Policy" the version 16.5.81 is shown as a newer one. Even as 16.5.81 is tagged as "Pre-release" here. In consequence, a folder com.sempermax.spmctest is generated which also means, no settings from you previous (real) stable install are being used.
