๐Ÿ” Have you checked Spicetify.app page for your issue?

  • I have checked the FAQ

๐Ÿ” Is there already an issue for your problem?

  • I have checked older issues, open and closed

โ„น Environment / Computer Info

- Spotify version: 1.2.44.405.g81fd6352
- Spicetify version: v2.37.2

๐Ÿ“ Description

I recently installed spicetify and tried using webnowplaying.js to get rainmeter to work with spicetify, but it seems that the extension isn't able to grab any information or even detect the song that Spotify is playing.

However, the webnowplaying extension is able to grab the video information from YouTube videos.

Use webnowplaying v2 which doesnโ€™t need this extension to work

I was using webnowplaying v2 originally, and I am still having this problem.

v2 doesnโ€™t need this extension because it uses SMTC as far as I am aware so if that doesnโ€™t work then the issue should be raised on wnp repo

Sorry but could you explain what SMTC is and how can I get it?

You "can't" get it. App has to support it. It's an windows API to tell windows that x app is playing something and to handle media keys and whatnot. If windows doesn't show that Spotify is playing something, the wnp won't either

Ok I see, can you give me the link of the repo you mentioned earlier so I can file an issue and hopefully have this fixed soon?
