Become a sponsor to Austin Hicks
I'm Austin Hicks, a blind developer based out of Seattle. I've done everything from boring web backend all the way down to C/C++.
My most notable open source project is probably my work on The Rust Compiler.
These days, my primary project is Synthizer, a public domain library for HRTF and audio effects for VR applications. I've done audio programming of one sort or another as a hobby for going on 7 or so years now.
My long term play is an MMO for and by the blind. That exists to some extent, but no one has built a stack to do it properly--tools like unity don't work for us because of accessibility. Along the way, I expect to produce lots of other libraries and components useful to everyone whether they be writing games with graphics or not, primarily in Rust and C/C++.
In the interest of full disclosure I do have a full-time job. I'm certainly not going to be starving without your support, and I'll be doing what I'm doing anyway whether you offer it or not. That said, people have expressed the desire to support my OSS work over the years, so: here you go. Sadly I no longer have the bandwidth to offer control over my priorities, but support is still appreciated.
Also, opinions are my own etc. You know the drill.

SelectIf you decide to sponsor me at this level, get in touch first and we'll work something out. I'd love to offer cool perks, but that's hard to do with less than 20 man-hours a week.

SelectI doubt you will sponsor me at this tier, but it'd be cool if someone did. If you do, thanks! Since you just made OSS dev my sidejob and massively accelerated my retirement savings, I'll move heaven and earth to work on what you want as fast as I can. That said, my dayjob is great and I'm not planning to leave it, so this tier won't magic more time out of thin air.
