Hello fellow developers,
Many years ago I started my journey as a web developer as a hobby, when I say many years ago I mean in the beginning, not the beginning of time (I'm not that old haha), but rather when all web pages were static HTML!
I had to know how these pages worked so I headed down the rabbit hole and purchased my first book "HTML for dummies". Yes, this was my first step into creating web pages. I found writing HTML very simple and basic and wanted to dig deeper.
What Came next?
I found Perl and started my journey with creating some small back-end scripts, of course it was all Procedural programming back then it as effective. I found myself sucked in, writing small scripts to process forms and then full blown inventory management systems for car dealers to post their vehicle inventory online.
But, this wasn't enough and I wanted to learn more! Next I looked into VB and started coding little programs that interacted with AOL (American Online). Yes, I'm that old lol.
Where I Am Today
Along came PHP. I was hooked on PHP early in it's lifecycle and followed it as it grew. One of the first classes I wrote was 15 years ago to connect and do common tasks for a MySQL database and named it IdealMySQL, believe it or not it is still on the PHPClasses.org website! If you want to give it a look, check it out IdealMySQL, code is really outdated now, but very useful then.
After spending many years programming as a hobby and working on some small and large scale projects along the way, I am looking forward to becoming a full-time freelancer (until I find the right company to work for), and taking on small projects as well and building web applications of my own.
How I Spend My Days
When I am not working on client projects, I spend my days working on web applications of my own such as Dealer Logs (scheduled to launch this year 2022) and expanding my knowledge.
I cannot say I am the "Master of one", but I can say, "I know a little about a lot", am a fast learner and have no problem with asking for help when I get stuck. I am the type of developer that will do research to find a solution to an issue and try to fix it myself before asking, as we hear and say to others often "Google is your friend!" Chances are someone has run into the same issue and has provided a solution that worked for them.
Thank You
Thank you for taking the time to view my sponsorship profile. While constantly learning new technologies on a daily bases and working to provide open source projects to the development community, I appreciate any sponsorship to help me continue on my development path.
All sponsorships will go towards materials to help me master my craft. If you want to sponsor me by hiring me to work on a project, I am open and willing to work with small and/or large teams.
