I am Harry and I am a lovely Australian who loves exploring new technologies. I spend most of my weekday working at aXcelerate as a full-time employee, this doesn't leave me much free time to work on cool exciting things :(. Down below I list out what I'm currently investing my free time into..

Projects

React

• I'm working on an updated version of my old.. outdated.. portfolio website. I'm rebuilding it with TypeScript, React, and Vite. I'll be using other tools like @mui/material and framer-motion to make the website look cool and responsive.

TypeScript/JavaScript

• This project is me exploring the world of Discord and its investment in Discord bots. I have previously created a Discord bot that made a mild impact on the community. I left that in the archives of old work, in today's world Discord has added sooooo many new features and tools for bots that I needed to find out for myself. It's a slow journey but I'm having a lot of fun learning the new ways of Discord bots. I am using @sapphire/framework for the command handling and mongoose for interacting with my home-hosted MongoDB database.

• I heard about Gleam very recently and I liked what I heard, for someone who has spent many years working with TypeScript/JavaScript I wanted to explore different languages. Gleam took my eye and didn't seem overtly complicated to use and I felt like I wanted to take on a project and contribute to the evergrowing list of Gleam packages.
• This project is set to create very simple packages for interacting with a Plex media server. This is quite a large project and due to my limited time, I'm not expecting a huge release any time soon. Nevertheless I'm still working on it and enjoying it a lot.

You don't have to! My job is enough for me to support myself through life and I am happy where I am. That doesn't mean you put your money elsewhere either. I have big ambitions and I hope to make an impact in software development in the future, I have quite a lot of time to think up a big project. In the meantime, I want to gain more experience through the workforce and grow my portfolio of projects.

What will your money do? Give me the motivation that my projects are meaningful to the community. It will also give me the motivation to work on projects that cost money to host and deploy. Maybe in the future I can work on a project that will allow me to invest 100% of my time into and build a meaningful piece of technology for the world.
