Who am I

I am Joseph Njogu, a Software and DevOps engineer by profession. I am from Nairobi, Kenya from where I work for an electric vehicle company.

What am I working on

During my free time, I focus on perfecting the Docker project that I have made open source. This is a project focused on re-usable Dockerfiles and docker-compose. Anyone can take them and modify them to suit their business needs.

Why is it crucial

In the current software engineering world, containerization of applications has moved to another level, in that it cannot be avoided. With that in mind, going ahead and creating re-usable docker files, is paramount in the sense that we eliminating re-inventing the wheels or/and Repeating yourself. The best practice of software development as per the "Pragmatic programmer's philosophy" is when DRY and don't re-invent the wheels are emulated.
