I’m Matteo, a passionate open-source enthusiast and PhD candidate in Data Science from the University of Zurich, in collaboration with the Applied University of Zurich (ZHAW), Switzerland. 🇨🇭

When I’m not immersed in my research, I devote my time to nurturing and expanding open-source projects.
One such project is TRAL, a Tandem Repeat Annotation Library, which I was working on during my Master Thesis and keep maintaining as it has garnered appreciation from the research community for its unique combination of multiple tandem repeat detectors with a statistical analysis framework.

During the same time, I noticed the absence of an official thesis template for the ZHAW. To fill this gap, I created the ZHAW thesis template, which aligns with the general requirements for a thesis at the ZHAW and has been widely accepted. Meanwhile, It’s even officially recommended by the Institute of Computational Life Sciences. To make LaTeX more accessible, I’ve also published the template on Overleaf. This project is dear to me, and I’ve invested countless hours to enhance its usability.
