Maven central stats

I will use this thread to share stats from SonaType Nexus.
It seems that SpotBugs is not actively used, let's ask community to have a try with SpotBugs.

For reference, download for FindBugs is more than 120k/mo.

I think we schould first craft RC6, because in RC5 both gradle and CLI execution are broken. Beside this, yes, we schould announce RC6 on FindBugs mailing list and also explain the current state and our plans.

I hope with RC6 and the announcement on FindBugs list we will get some more interest. All the maven data is most likely heavily influenced by corporate use. Not many admins are using beta versions anyway, especially from forked projects. So they have to understand where the future is and get some stable binaries to work with.

I wish the final release will follow RC6 shortly, so people could start switching to spotbugs also in production.

Additionally we should point to this list and bug tracker, because I still see people reporting bugs on the old project.

Now SpotBugs is more popular than FindBugs, finally :) @spotbugs/everyone

482,726 downloads during 2021/Jan. The data for 2021/Feb seems not ready yet.

In the same timing, FindBugs had 154,718 downloads. SpotBugs usage is three times than FindBugs. FindBugs' stats has less change for one year, so I assume that most of users have finished their migration from FindBugs to SpotBugs.

and it's about x4 compared to FindBugs which is about 160 [k/mo] downloads.
