After some investigation I found out that this was a problem of the actual GitHub API (sorting and filtering for stars didn't work correctly).
The problem got fixed by GitHub within the last weeks and the data should be now back to normal.

TL;DR
Roughly 2 months ago I noticed that the displayed data of the PopularGHBranchNamesVisualizer was quite weird.
After some investigation I found out that this was a problem of the actual GitHub API (sorting and filtering for stars didn't work correctly).
The problem got fixed by GitHub within the last weeks and the data should be now back to normal.
