You mean in Shiny? Yes. But the shinyAceEditor package is better for Shiny.

Sorry, the package is shinyAce, not shinyAceEditor.

As I said, it is better for Shiny. The advantages of aceEditor are:

it can be used in a Rmarkdown document
in RStudio it opens in the viewer pane and this is like a second editor
