Dark mode, brief flash of white when switching between docs page and stories.

Summary

I've set dark theme in both manager and docs.
I've also set a black background in a css I load into preview.
When I switch between Docs page and a story (or the other way around) there is a brief flash of white.
Is there some way to avoid this as both pages involved are dark?

Video recording only shows flash in one direction. But in reality I get it on navigation both ways.
