Introduction

[http://code.google.com/p/sympy/ SymPy] has had one student this year due to a lot of other excellent GSoC proposals. However, Fredrik has done an excellent job over the summer by integrating mpmath with sympy tightly and also implementing new numerical algorithms. Read his report below.
