Don't let it die. If you really don't wanna maintain this then you can shift it to me. I am not a javascript expert but still can maintain this project in my bare time during weekends. I just created a npm package yesterday named easy-magnify that extended the dead project react-image-magnify and made it compatible with latest versions of react and nextjs. Maybe can handle this too ??? |
Good afternoon. I'm a professional software engineer with 10+ years of web developer experience. I'm interested in helping to maintain the project in my spare time. At my current job, Jaanuu, we use this feature on the website. |
Yup then let him manage this package as my own package that works same has been getting nice number of weekly downloads and i may need to manage it |
Status bump |
Hey @james0r thanks for the bump, we chatted about this repo as a team and have decided that we'll keep the repo open and review any incoming changes / request. We are not going to be actively maintaining the repo but happy to look at any forks that someone has. Cheers |
Oh hey @mattlaguardia, I'm open to taking ownership of this (and Luminous too) if the imgix team agrees! |
Hey @paulstraw Just messaged you :) |
@mattlaguardia where at? I'm not seeing any messages in the usual spots. 🤔 Fee free to hit me up at paulstraw@paulstraw.com if some other method got lost in the ether. |
What was the conclusion here? Has this package moved somewhere else? |
@arobbins thanks for the ping. These repos (Drift and Luminous) did get transferred to me, but I haven't had a chance to do any maintenance/refactoring quite yet. I will absolutely be making updates in the future, though I can't promise when as I've got a few other OSS projects in flight at the moment (and, you know, life). I made a note for myself to update the readmes this weekend though, to at least remove the archive notice. |
Awesome thanks for the update. I'll subscribe to your repos then! I've always thought Drift was the best zooming library out there. Good luck moving forward. |
After careful consideration, we have decided to pass the torch and open the doors to new individuals who are passionate about driving this project forward.
We want to make sure to leave this library and good hands and are actively looking for new maintainers. If you’re passionate about open-source, let us know! We’re looking to pass the baton to folks who can give this project the attention it deserves.
We plan to archive this repo on September 30, 2023, after which, hopefully, we'll have a new, talented team of maintainers to carry it forward.
Thank you for your years of contributions and support,
Team imgix.
