Bit of help running this with the pants build tool

I am using a python project which uses pants. I run the command pants test --debug-adapter <path-to-test> which waits for a connection with Launching debug adapter at '127.0.0.1:5678', which will wait for a client connection....

The issue is, running dape doesn't recognize this and I can't find a command to connect to a given address. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to get this to work with pants using the remote connection for Python in the Wiki.

Can you elaborate a bit more on what you did? I added the snippet to my config, added in debugpy stuff to my script, added a dape breakpoint, ran the command I listed above and I get the same result.

Once I configured the remote connection, the first entry in dape-configs is:

The rest of dape-configs is untouched, so there's a lot of things already there, which I suspect can be gotten rid of. But when I run dape, it comes up with the connection to localhost:5678 already configured, which I just select by hitting "enter". Pants, which has been waiting for the connection, then starts up, and I'm entered into the dape experience.

I'm not sure how much that helps, but it sounds like you might still have some issue with dape-configs not matching up somehow with your environment, so not starting out with this entry selected. I think once you can get it to that point, it should work.
