  • Sway Version: sway version 1.4-2bf14cb7 (May 20 2020, branch 'master')
  • Debug Log: https://0x0.st/i9OA.log
  • DRM Log (if useful): https://0x0.st/i9Om.log
  • Configuration File: /etc/sway/config (default)
  • GPU/Drivers: Navi w/ amdgpu 5.6.13, mesa 20.0.7

I simply started sway with sway -c /etc/sway/config -d 2>sway.log and nothing happens. These logs are a result of that. Sway 1.4 does not have this issue. I have not bisected because this is tedious to test and I unfortunately do not have the time right now. However I may be able to do it this weekend if no solution has been found.

Some other background: I have been having some hiccups with amdgpu, I believe are related to this issue. Furthermore, I recently acquired two adaptive sync monitors and have been using adaptive sync on them. They were working fine last night, until I updated wlroots/sway to the latest git.

Based on my logs:

[2020-05-19T22:32:10-0400] [ALPM] upgraded wlroots-git (0.10.0.r136.g2988ebb6-1 -> 0.10.0.r143.g2176c638-1)
[2020-05-19T22:32:19-0400] [ALPM] upgraded sway-git (r6362.9b5895be-1 -> r6363.5c32a484-1)

The sway commit didn't look related but the wlroots commits seem like they could have some breaking changes. As I said before, I have not attempted to bisect yet.

seems to be swaywm/wlroots#2209, I didn't check wlroots first.
