Exporting Results
Once you have finished reviewing articles, you can export your results.
How to Export Your Results
Filtering Your Results
There are 5 different export options. For 4 of them, your output will be formatted as a csv (comma separated) file, which can be opened with Excel or a similar program. The 5th option will format your data as an XML file that can be opened in EndNote.
Click manage then export. Read descriptions of the different export options. Click "Configure Export" for the export option you are interested in.
This will bring you to the Articles page, pre-configured for the type of export you want to do. You are now ready to export. Be sure to read the Filtering Your Results section to learn how to filter which articles are exported (the most common filter is to filter to articles you wish to include in your analysis, which will significantly reduce the file size).
At the bottom left of the page is a section titled "Exports". There is a button for each of the export options that opens the document generator for that export. The export option you selected on the previous page should already be selected, showing the appropriate document generator. Click "Generate", and after a few moments the space that says "" will be replaced with a file name. For large exports, it may take some time to generate the export file.
Click on the file name, and then your computer should download the file. You can then open the file just like you would open any other file downloaded in your browser.
When you click on an option in the Exports page, the Articles page will be configured for your export. But you can change some of the filters prior to exporting. In this example, we'll walk through how to add a filter so only articles that have been labeled as "Include" are in the export file.
First, click "Add filter", and then "Labels" to filter on one of your labels.
Next, you'll want to select "Include" so you are filtering on the label where you decided whether or not to include an article in your analysis.
Then you'll want to click on the answer choice "yes", to choose to filter on articles you chose to include in your analysis.
And finally, click "Save" to apply your new filter.
The chart below lists the variables that will be output for the 5 different export options as of May 2019:
