Use Flare Instead of AKoD
Flare is a modified version of AKoD designed to enhance user experience and security. Unlike AKoD, which relies on third-party services like Netlify, GitHub, and Pythonanywhere, Flare operates directly on your own Ubuntu or Linux server, along with an API. This setup not only provides instant account creation and usability for Flare users but also eliminates potential impacts on functionality caused by limitations of free-tier services.
One of the significant advantages of Flare is its additional features, such as HWID/Node and IP locking license keys, unlimited key activations, API SSL encryption, dedicated POST requests, continuous API service, unlimited bandwidth, and your own custom domains. Moreover, Flare allows users to validate their activation keys through a Discord bot command, just like AKoD does.
In contrast, AKoD's reliance on services like Netlify and Pythonanywhere comes with certain limitations. For example, Netlify's "build minutes" accrue during both successful and failed builds, potentially affecting user experience due to deployment delays. Additionally, while Pythonanywhere hosts the decryption API for AKoD, it has limitations on account capacity and runtime, requiring manual check-ins every three months to keep the service online. Furthermore, Pythonanywhere does not SSL encrypt API requests, potentially compromising security.
Flare offers a solution for programmers seeking to license their code securely and customize it according to their preferences. With its direct server hosting, instant usability, and additional features, Flare stands out as the preferred choice for developers looking for a D.I.Y. licensing solution.
