In theory, the same commands for Ubuntu should work on Elementary OS (the main difference is it uses flatpaks instead of snaps, and pantheon instead of gnome). OS=other-linux NAME="elementary OS" |

Debian 9, stretch?
May be a bit dated, but a go static binary should run on this. /etc/debian_version = |

openatv is sufficiently different from desktop/server Linux platforms that we're not likely to be able to support it in install.sh. It looks like openatv uses start-stop-daemon scripts in its init system? We developed one for GitHub Codespaces in https://github.com/tailscale/dgentry-codespace/blob/main/tailscaled which might be helpful. |

CentOS 9 is not supported with install.sh OS=centos NAME="CentOS Stream" |
We don't have a reasonable way to test this, as it doesn't run in an x86 VM and we don't have suitable phone hardware to use.

Not going to be able to support this. |

Support ParrotSec https://parrotsec.org/ Tested using a Parrot 5.0 VM. Updates #2915 Signed-off-by: Denton Gentry <dgentry@tailscale.com>
The primary distribution for LinuxMint is based on Ubuntu, but there is an alternate Debian-based distribution called LMDE. Both variations identify themselves as "linuxmint" We added UBUNTU_VERSION to the Ubuntu handling for linuxmint, the only distribution so far found to do this. Instead, split linuxmint out into its own case and use either UBUNTU_VERSION or DEBIAN_VERSION, whichever is present. Tested on an LMDE 5 (elsie) VM. Tested using an Alma Linux 8.5 VM. Updates #2915 Signed-off-by: Denton Gentry <dgentry@tailscale.com>
Is there anything I can do to assist with testing Tailscale on AlmaLinux 8? |
Alma Linux support is currently in a pull request, in #4430. Once submitted, install.sh will be updated to support installing on AlmaLinux. |

This issue has gotten long and unwieldy enough that I think this is a good time to close it. We added all of the distributions listed here which are possible to add to install.sh. As user reports come in for more distributions, we'll open new bugs for each one so that we can more easily track what is done and what is left to try to add. |
