Currently, the only method I can find for creating stacked shadows—other than adding them to the config—is using the arbitrary syntax, which is not conducive to stacking present shadows such as these examples:
class="shadow shadow-inner"
class="shadow-md shadow-[0_0_-5px_20px_#999]"
It would be great to have some way to stack shadows outside of the arbitrary-values syntax. In fact, it would be great to add a stackable syntax to all stackable property values, as many properties support this, including backgrounds, transitions, and others.
I'm indifferent on the exact syntax, but maybe something like a pipe operator:

I'm unsure how to reverse the stacking context of the base
shadow
class without using it as an alias for something else likeshadow-base
, whereshadow
would be an alias toshadow-base
and function the same way.So the below three examples would all work as expected, with the final example using the reverse stacking context of the first two, where the first two would function identically (via alias).
