The next version of ido-ubiquitous must be explicitly enabled, like any other minor mode. This commit adds some code to do that. See https://github.com/technomancy/ido-ubiquitous/pull/2#issuecomment-2227611

By the way, the code is structured to work with both the old and new versions of ido-ubiquitous. You could instead opt to delete the code that handles the old version and just depend on the latest version.

Thanks; I'll remove the check for the old version once I bump it in starter-kit-pkg.el.
