Configurable Tap Dance?

I've been looking into how to achieve tap dance where I can replace the ESC key with a tilde, and if I tap and hold it, then it becomes ESC. I do a lot of coding and the back-tick/tilde is more important to me than the ESC.

But it seems VIA doesn't allow a custom tap dance, even with trying to use something like MT() in the Any key. Do I have to manually submit a code change in this repo to add a preset that I can apply to my key?
