Computer science is everywhere.

You may be skeptical about getting involved in computer science, but there are many reasons why you should. Computer science has many career opportunities. The first reason as to why you should get into computer science is that digital age needs computer scientists. We are living it the Digital Age and the future is now. In order to perpetuate that future, we need more people to pedal it forward. Computers have all but infiltrated every aspect of our lives. Computer scientists theorise, design, develop, and apply the software and hardware for the programmes we use day in day out, and sounds pretty important.

The second reason is that Computer science has great job prospects. The Computer industry is an ever growing industry. Jobs exist today that people would not have thought of 30 years ago. Similarly, jobs will exist in the future that will sound like a fever dream today. This is really exciting, and thus you will (probably) not be stuck in the same job forever if you get into computer science.

Thirdly, Computer scientists earn big bucks. Computer scientists are in demand and their salaries reflects this. Recent graduates in professional roles earn quite a lot on average, and the average software developer can earn anywhere from £30,000 to £75,000.

Finally, computer scientists are needed in every type of industry. Every industry uses computers so naturally computer scientists can work in any. Problems in many other areas can be solved by computers. It's up to the computer scientist to figure out how, and design the software to apply the solution.

You may think that computer science is a very uncreative job, but that simply isn't the case. Computer science requires creative solutions, and thus there is the need for creative people. If you are also worried that computer science does not pay well, you can disregard that thought: as I said earlier computer science pays big money. Not necessarily six figures, but you will be able to live comfortably enough with a computer science job.
