npm not recognizing the jshintrc

Hi there, I wanted to use your template to make a personal blog. However, after cloning and going through the readme file, I'm stuck on the npm run dev part. When I try to run this command, it returns an error saying "ERROR: Can't find config file: ./.jshintrc" but the file is in the directory, it just seems to not recognize that it is or is looking for it on a different path. Not sure if this is something on my end, I've tried looking up how to fix this issue but it seems to be mostly case by case. I even made sure I was executing each command in the root directory just to be sure.
