Background

Each week, we want to share with the world through social media an interesting fact about the new technology we're using. We want the tweet to highlight something we found interesting about the techonology that helped simplify solutions or make the development process better. This could also be a tweet showcasing a piece of work you've done each week that you would think people find cool about the technology.

Tweet vision

We need more of an idea of structure around one tweet. The memes work well if we pair them with some of these facts.

  • structure of a completed tweet:
    • 280 characters of copy or less.
    • some sort of graphic - that can be a meme, a logo, a code block, or a screenshot of something we’re referencing
speaking of graphics, if we’re using memes or code blocks, we need to pair alt text with them. basically just need someone to describe what the meme is in detail for a11y purposes.
code blocks should be short and to the point. Let’s not ask people to look at 30 lines of code on Twitter
  • Added below are some meme ads we did for hiring last quarter that I hope help.
-- I think the reason these worked so well (massive engagement) was because we were able to tie the copy into something relevant. They are also really funny!
--- We don’t always have to do this. Some of these memes that are listed here can work well on their own for engagement/comedy purposes, but generally speaking, we do want to be able to add some sort of value, perhaps in the way of a tip or trick.
