It seems the software does not provide any localization features. Could you
please review your code and transfer all language strings to extra files,
so we can easily translate them?
If you gave me a hint, where to start, I would be willing to participate in
this task.

I am from Germany and I am moving a few elderly people to Linux, that need
a software like autokey, but do not understand English.

I have made a few changes, created a translation template (POT) and a German
translation. You can find all the patches and files attached to this post.

I'm looking forward to see these changes integrated as localization is one of
the
most important things for a software to become a real must-have.

And another thing: Attached you will find a pseudo-installer, that will install
the
modified files and the German language files over an existing AutoKey
installation.

Just extract it anywhere and start by running start.sh

Actually Autokey is already coded to use gettext on GTK and QT's translation
framework on KDE. Could you please check again and see if your work needs to be
updated accordingly.

Just a few strings are prepared for gettext (in the GTK variant at least). My
patches
just put the underscore (_) before any other string, that was not prepared for
gettext.

Also I have added loading of gettext, since it didn't start by itself.

Cool, thanks. I'll merge the changes into the next release.

To save me time, would you be able to generate a diff against the latest svn
rev? You
will need to check out branches/autokey-combined
