Not for building TS files. It's actually used by build:js, so my previous comment was wrong

By all accounts, TypeScript has been a big success for Microsoft. I've seen loads of people sparkle with joy from dousing JavaScript with explicit types that can be checked by a compiler. But I've
neverbeen a fan.Notafter giving it five minutes,notafter giving it five years. So it's with great pleasure that I can announce we'redroppinggoing TypeScript all-the-way :)This PR is removing the manually crafted types from the
4.xbranch so we can use the types from TypeScript directly. The idea of removing those is a separate PR is to help backporting the TS change tomain– we want both branch to be as much in sync as possible until we start making non-TS related breaking changes.
