Users would benefit from being able to filter the file tree view. Displaying files based upon a simple "contains" logic with a clear button would offer an adequate UX. Filtering files is far more valuable to me and probably many users than file search, which exists.
It was suggested 5 years ago that this feature be added and I'm perplexed as to why it is still not added, as I see it as an easy feature to code I think maybe it is lost with the other 615 open issues. I'm trying to give this idea a bump, after 5 years. It is still a valuable suggestion worth including in the app.
