PDF files are downloaded and not displayed

When sharing a link to a PDF file, dwb tries to download the file instead of displaying it. We should implement an automatism to download and open the file or enable dwb itself to display the file.
Since dwb is said to be "outdated and insecure", should we take this opportunity to discuss an alternative?

Things to consider when looking for a new browser:

• lightweight & easy on system resources
• minimal or at least configurable layout (e.g. no or small menubar)
• sufficient command line arguments available (e.g. open in new window or instance)
• secure & maintained
• pre-installed or easily available, ideally from debian package repository
• able to handle javascript
• able to display most common picture formats
• able to display pdf files (or at least it should download them and we hand them over to zathura)
• also usable on raspberry pi
• ...?
