no secondary button (camera button) #33

I like this idea, but agree it's a low priority

16.04 rc and stable: the issue remains... |
Please bear with us that we do not focus on a feature which exactly benefits one device, where we got many other issues that are much more important... |
Sure! That's completely understandable, and I also feel that this has very low priority. |
This was so obvious that I completely overlooked it...the "camera" button (the second physical button on the lower right side), which is supposed to activate the camera, is not working.
A suggestion: it would be nice to have that button with a "select application mode" on settings, so by default it would activate the camera (as it was intended), but also to be able to toggle other functions on the phone, according to user needs (launch browser, lock screen, lock rotation, mute, answer or drop calls, activate encrypted connections / comms, whatever). This feature should also be provided with a "activate / deactivate" option for that same button.
It's a bit cumbersome and too easy to press, and some users might want to deactivate it altogether, to avoid activating functions while inside their pockets and so on.

Agree that if added as a feature it should have an on/off switch or even a picker to choose the function assigned to it.

Moved to wishlist. Adding a new screen to the Settings menu is outside the scope of our project, but being able to use the camera button would be nice if possible.
