  • All tests should be run on all backends
  • Backends supported should be (open to debate):
    • Verilator
    • Treadle
    • Icarus Verilog (once supported)

VCS testing also has to be figured out.

If we can support Hammer simulation as a backend that would also be great...

Hammer has a simulation API/abstraction that allows a number of different simulator backends to be driven, such as VCS, ncsim, etc.

We have much better coverage of different backends in the tests now.
