Beta program

Yes, we do have a Beta program, and that's your chance to not only try out the bleeding edge of WebTools, but also help us help the Plex community as a whole. Besides that, you as a Beta tester also engage directly with the developers of WebTools, so if something is on your mind regarding WebTools, then this is indeed the place to be

If you want to participate in the beta program for WebTools V3, then it does involve a few things:

Requirements

• Requirements

  • You must accept, that this is beta software!
  • You must be able to manually install WebTools, since auto update will not work
  • You must be able to manually grab the WebTools log files from your PMS
  • No support will be given for installation issues! If you can't install it manually, then sorry, you are not beta tester material.
  • You must sign up for our Slack. (Link given, when signing up)
  • You must create a GitHub account, if you do not already have one
  • You must sign up for our translation site. (Link is available in Slack)
    • Note that this is regardless of whether or not you do any translations or not, we use this information for our Credits page
  • You must download the current WebTools beta. (Link is available in Slack)

• Language

  • You should test WebTools in your native language
  • If a translation is not correct, you should correct it at the translation site
  • If your language is missing, you should create and translate it at
  • Languages that have been translated, or are in the process of being translated:

    • Dutch
    • English
    • French

    • Greek
    • Hebrew
    • Hindi

• Testing

  • You should test as many functions of WebTools as possible

  • If you are facing a bug, and it's not listed here, then you must create a new GitHub Issue

  • Start by checking the Wiki first please
  • If you still have a question during beta testing, it should be asked in our Slack beta-v3 channel

Signup

To sign up for the beta, please send a message to dane22 on the Plex forums, as well as mention this beta, so that I can send you a Slack Invite. Also do note, that due to time-zones, it might take up to 36 hours, before I see your message.

Credits

If you sign up for the beta, you will be mentioned in the About Us page of WebTools, with the name you use for our translation site, unless you opt. out of that.
