I heard that this crate was used in Firefox and so I wondered if there are bindings to C or C++.

Unfortunately, no, there aren't. There are only XPIDL bindings in Firefox https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D81127
We'll be happy to accept a patch with C/C++ bindings as well :)
