Context
Over the next two months (April and May 2024), we plan to make major changes to some UnJS projects alongside the Nitro v3 release.
The changes aim for long-term stability with as few breaking changes as possible.
What packages are involved?
⚡ The primary goal is Nitro v3 release. Please subscribe to 👉 Nitro v3 roadmap for upcoming updates.
🧩 Some dependencies need major updates along the way (h3, radix3, jiti, mlly, ufo, consola, unstorage, and [more to come])
📦 We need to also overhaul our build tools (including unbuild) to be more future-ready and better support new runtimes and standards.
📖 We're also improving our documentation foundation in parallel based on the new undocs tool and planning to focus on creating new docs and adding learning materials for Nitro, H3, and other higher-level projects.
Expected timeline
Collabration
Progressively, more issues and trackers will be opened in individual projects and if you are interested in collaborating and sharing ideas, please feel free to follow up on them individually or make new discussions in each repo.
During this changes we're collaborating with the Nuxt, a major user of UnJS packages, and make best efforts to communicate with other libraries and frameworks that rely on UnJS ecosystem. The timeline aligns with the Nuxt 4 release.
In the end, I am thankful for Nuxtlabs and all sponsors that allow me to work on UnJS and helping to make a better ecosystem for everyone.
