Life-Stage-And-Gender
is an Entity which refers to both the gender identification of a person and/or their stage of life.
Why combine the two? (i.e., instead of separate Gender
and Life Stage
annotations)
Because terms such as "girl" and "boy" refer to both a stage of life (childhood) and a gender identification. Combining the two concepts into one simplifies the task of annotation.
In cases where only one life stage or gender identification concept is indicated (e.g., "female" or "children"), respective annotation types of female
or child
(in this example) should be used.
Possible types are:
- female
- male
- nonbinary
- transgender
- girl
- boy
- infant - includes neonate
- child
- adult
- elderly
