[Feature Request] Option to disable Bloom and DoF? #17
Comments
this is actually a good idea, same goes for the shadows, they eat the fps allot |
DOF is indeed aggressive in LAN, but it mostly serves to hide very poor mipmaps and levels of detail in the distance, which otherwise would look absolutely awful. |
Well it's a good thing then I don't want to get rid of DoF and Bloom entirely. I just want to eliminate the aliasing present in those effects and the overall low quality of them. Even if I did though it would be a somewhat moot point because of the ability to force better Anti Aliasing on Nvidia GPUs that takes care of 90% of the aliasing present in the game. (Z-Fighting seems to be a big problem still left over). Here's some comparisons and videos to visualize everything. https://www.screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/26567 And some videos showing in motion No AA with the post effects still enabled (I would recommend downloading the videos. Playing them in drive recompresses them to the point of excess high frequency information being nuked) |
I know this isn't an issue with this patch, but I was curious to know how hard or if it's possible to create some kind of option to disable the Bloom and Depth of Field Post Processing options.
Unfortunately these effects are fixed to a very low fractional resolution based on the rendering resolution and they are distractingly low quality with numerous temporal crawling/flicker issues and I'd like to replace them with effects from Reshade instead.
There is the launch option to disable all post effects but unfortunately this seems to break other rendering like the minimap.
Thank you for your time.
