Problem

The sample app's BlockedNumber activity is not functional on devices running Android 33 (Tiramisu) and higher...

It turns out that there is now additional code required to request the role of the default dialer as per the official docs in RoleManagerCompat.ROLE_DIALER...

Solution

Fix the sample app and update the documentation.
