In the meeting last week (also comments at #226 (comment)), there was a discussion on whether the current binding categories make sense at all, i.e. should we remove them. This sparks some thoughts:
Should we wait for another Note publication or merge into TD spec to do the transition? We are currently in the review phase and cannot make big changes. So if we do not want to publish a Note at the current state, we can probably cancel the current Note publication. This implies major work to change the current document and I fear that we may not have enough time in the current charter.
How do we specify what a binding can and must specify? The instructions for creating a payload binding is not applicable for protocols. Should we say multiple conditions like "If the binding influences href, it should specify the URI scheme"?
