URL: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/contact-us/chat/ref=aw_cu_landing?#contact
Browser / Version: Firefox Mobile 39.0
Operating System: Android
Problem type: Mobile site is not usable

Steps to Reproduce
When in live chat with an Amazon advisor. The text doesn't scroll when messages are sent or received. Makes it next to impossible to use.

This requires an amazon account for testing.

This is an issue. You can't scroll all the way down, some part of the most recent comment will always be hidden behind the absolutely positioned TEXTAREA stuff you use for input. I don't understand why, because the element where the chat messages go has a 75px bottom padding - clearly set to make sure the bottom part of this goes clear of the 65px tall textarea element. Perhaps this is a core bug?

I thought this was a core bug and reported Bugzilla bug 1198902 but I was probably trusting webkit'y rendering too far because "all" other browsers side with Firefox. Pending analysis..

@hallvors does it still happen?

It is still an issue, yes. It is however less bad than I remember it used to be.

Less of the comment gets cropped away. Also the service now started adding timestamps underneath comments - and that means when the timestamp appears, it takes up enough space to push the comment text clear of the TEXTAREA:

Doesn't happen 100% consistently though:

(Heh, the Amazon person typed a message before I captured 2nd screenshot, so it didn't really show the "time stamp ensures last message is readable" effect.)

Just tested with Firefox 63 for Android. The issue still exists and makes it difficult to chat with support.
