Problem updating (blank screen no lights)

Hello!
I have a problem updating my Performer.
I try both ways by either pressing the encoder and powering on, or by going through the system menu and pressing the encoder and the screen is just blank. Like as if the unit does not power on so I'm not able to update.
If I power offf and then power on it boots normally and the sequeencer works fine.
I just can't update.
Any ideas what to do please? I have no programmer handy.
