If the system is running on NAND-based storage, without mechanical drives, we don't need to manage the plug/unplug of the actual block because we don't have to count the time for the head to reach that disk physical location. Solid state storage have no head to move and no location to "physically reach", as the block is being retrieved in the exact moment we request it. The do_io_submit function expects the storage device to be ready to deliver the block (aka - next block of the queue to process), therefore it's safe to remove useless waits on systems using only that type of storage. This patch adds a configuration option to enable the SSD-only optimization for the Linux Asynchronous IO framework. Enabling it on systems with rotational storage (or mixed) WILL hit storage performance A LOT.

commit 050133e1aa2cb49bb17be847d48a4431598ef562 upstream. commit 0622cab ("bonding: fix 802.3ad aggregator reselection"), resolve case, when there is several aggregation groups in the same bond. bond_3ad_unbind_slave will invalidate (clear) aggregator when __agg_active_ports return zero. So, ad_clear_agg can be executed even, when num_of_ports!=0. Than bond_3ad_unbind_slave can be executed again for, previously cleared aggregator. NOTE: at this time bond_3ad_unbind_slave will not update slave ports list, because lag_ports==NULL. So, here we got slave ports, pointing to freed aggregator memory. Fix with checking actual number of ports in group (as was before commit 0622cab ("bonding: fix 802.3ad aggregator reselection") ), before ad_clear_agg(). The KASAN logs are as follows: [ 767.617392] ================================================================== [ 767.630776] BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in bond_3ad_state_machine_handler+0x13dc/0x1470 [ 767.638764] Read of size 2 at addr ffff00011ba9d430 by task kworker/u8:7/767 [ 767.647361] CPU: 3 PID: 767 Comm: kworker/u8:7 Tainted: G O 5.15.11 whatawurst#15 [ 767.655329] Hardware name: DNI AmazonGo1 A7040 board (DT) [ 767.660760] Workqueue: lacp_1 bond_3ad_state_machine_handler [ 767.666468] Call trace: [ 767.668930] dump_backtrace+0x0/0x2d0 [ 767.672625] show_stack+0x24/0x30 [ 767.675965] dump_stack_lvl+0x68/0x84 [ 767.679659] print_address_description.constprop.0+0x74/0x2b8 [ 767.685451] kasan_report+0x1f0/0x260 [ 767.689148] __asan_load2+0x94/0xd0 [ 767.692667] bond_3ad_state_machine_handler+0x13dc/0x1470 Fixes: 0622cab ("bonding: fix 802.3ad aggregator reselection") Co-developed-by: Maksym Glubokiy <maksym.glubokiy@plvision.eu> Signed-off-by: Maksym Glubokiy <maksym.glubokiy@plvision.eu> Signed-off-by: Yevhen Orlov <yevhen.orlov@plvision.eu> Acked-by: Jay Vosburgh <jay.vosburgh@canonical.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20220629012914.361-1-yevhen.orlov@plvision.eu Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

The KASAN logs are as follows: [ 767.617392] ================================================================== [ 767.630776] BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in bond_3ad_state_machine_handler+0x13dc/0x1470 [ 767.638764] Read of size 2 at addr ffff00011ba9d430 by task kworker/u8:7/767 [ 767.647361] CPU: 3 PID: 767 Comm: kworker/u8:7 Tainted: G O 5.15.11 whatawurst#15 [ 767.655329] Hardware name: DNI AmazonGo1 A7040 board (DT) [ 767.660760] Workqueue: lacp_1 bond_3ad_state_machine_handler [ 767.666468] Call trace: [ 767.668930] dump_backtrace+0x0/0x2d0 [ 767.672625] show_stack+0x24/0x30 [ 767.675965] dump_stack_lvl+0x68/0x84 [ 767.679659] print_address_description.constprop.0+0x74/0x2b8 [ 767.685451] kasan_report+0x1f0/0x260 [ 767.689148] __asan_load2+0x94/0xd0 [ 767.692667] bond_3ad_state_machine_handler+0x13dc/0x1470 Fixes: 0622cab ("bonding: fix 802.3ad aggregator reselection") Co-developed-by: Maksym Glubokiy <maksym.glubokiy@plvision.eu> Signed-off-by: Maksym Glubokiy <maksym.glubokiy@plvision.eu> Signed-off-by: Yevhen Orlov <yevhen.orlov@plvision.eu> Acked-by: Jay Vosburgh <jay.vosburgh@canonical.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20220629012914.361-1-yevhen.orlov@plvision.eu Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

commit 4bb26f2885ac6930984ee451b952c5a6042f2c0e upstream. When inode is created and written to using direct IO, there is nothing to clear the EXT4_STATE_MAY_INLINE_DATA flag. Thus when inode gets truncated later to say 1 byte and written using normal write, we will try to store the data as inline data. This confuses the code later because the inode now has both normal block and inline data allocated and the confusion manifests for example as: kernel BUG at fs/ext4/inode.c:2721! invalid opcode: 0000 [whatawurst#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN CPU: 0 PID: 359 Comm: repro Not tainted 5.19.0-rc8-00001-g31ba1e3b8305-dirty whatawurst#15 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.16.0-1.fc36 04/01/2014 RIP: 0010:ext4_writepages+0x363d/0x3660 RSP: 0018:ffffc90000ccf260 EFLAGS: 00010293 RAX: ffffffff81e1abcd RBX: 0000008000000000 RCX: ffff88810842a180 RDX: 0000000000000000 RSI: 0000008000000000 RDI: 0000000000000000 RBP: ffffc90000ccf650 R08: ffffffff81e17d58 R09: ffffed10222c680b R10: dfffe910222c680c R11: 1ffff110222c680a R12: ffff888111634128 R13: ffffc90000ccf880 R14: 0000008410000000 R15: 0000000000000001 FS: 00007f72635d2640(0000) GS:ffff88811b000000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 CR2: 0000565243379180 CR3: 000000010aa74000 CR4: 0000000000150eb0 Call Trace: <TASK> do_writepages+0x397/0x640 filemap_fdatawrite_wbc+0x151/0x1b0 file_write_and_wait_range+0x1c9/0x2b0 ext4_sync_file+0x19e/0xa00 vfs_fsync_range+0x17b/0x190 ext4_buffered_write_iter+0x488/0x530 ext4_file_write_iter+0x449/0x1b90 vfs_write+0xbcd/0xf40 ksys_write+0x198/0x2c0 __x64_sys_write+0x7b/0x90 do_syscall_64+0x3d/0x90 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x63/0xcd </TASK> Fix the problem by clearing EXT4_STATE_MAY_INLINE_DATA when we are doing direct IO write to a file. …g the sock [ Upstream commit 3cf7203ca620682165706f70a1b12b5194607dce ] There is a race condition in vxlan that when deleting a vxlan device during receiving packets, there is a possibility that the sock is released after getting vxlan_sock vs from sk_user_data. Then in later vxlan_ecn_decapsulate(), vxlan_get_sk_family() we will got NULL pointer dereference. e.g. #0 [ffffa25ec6978a38] machine_kexec at ffffffff8c669757 whatawurst#1 [ffffa25ec6978a90] __crash_kexec at ffffffff8c7c0a4d whatawurst#2 [ffffa25ec6978b58] crash_kexec at ffffffff8c7c1c48 whatawurst#3 [ffffa25ec6978b60] oops_end at ffffffff8c627f2b whatawurst#4 [ffffa25ec6978b80] page_fault_oops at ffffffff8c678fcb whatawurst#5 [ffffa25ec6978bd8] exc_page_fault at ffffffff8d109542 whatawurst#6 [ffffa25ec6978c00] asm_exc_page_fault at ffffffff8d200b62 [exception RIP: vxlan_ecn_decapsulate+0x3b] RIP: ffffffffc1014e7b RSP: ffffa25ec6978cb0 RFLAGS: 00010246 RAX: 0000000000000008 RBX: ffff8aa000888000 RCX: 0000000000000000 RDX: 000000000000000e RSI: ffff8a9fc7ab803e RDI: ffff8a9fd1168700 RBP: ffff8a9fc7ab803e R8: 0000000000700000 R9: 00000000000010ae R10: ffff8a9fcb748980 R11: 0000000000000000 R12: ffff8a9fd1168700 R13: ffff8aa000888000 R14: 00000000002a0000 R15: 00000000000010ae ORIG_RAX: ffffffffffffffff CS: 0010 SS: 0018 whatawurst#7 [ffffa25ec6978ce8] vxlan_rcv at ffffffffc10189cd [vxlan] whatawurst#8 [ffffa25ec6978d90] udp_queue_rcv_one_skb at ffffffff8cfb6507 whatawurst#9 [ffffa25ec6978dc0] udp_unicast_rcv_skb at ffffffff8cfb6e45 whatawurst#10 [ffffa25ec6978dc8] __udp4_lib_rcv at ffffffff8cfb8807 whatawurst#11 [ffffa25ec6978e20] ip_protocol_deliver_rcu at ffffffff8cf76951 whatawurst#12 [ffffa25ec6978e48] ip_local_deliver at ffffffff8cf76bde whatawurst#13 [ffffa25ec6978ea0] __netif_receive_skb_one_core at ffffffff8cecde9b whatawurst#14 [ffffa25ec6978ec8] process_backlog at ffffffff8cece139 whatawurst#15 [ffffa25ec6978f00] __napi_poll at ffffffff8ceced1a whatawurst#16 [ffffa25ec6978f28] net_rx_action at ffffffff8cecf1f3 whatawurst#17 [ffffa25ec6978fa0] __softirqentry_text_start at ffffffff8d4000ca whatawurst#18 [ffffa25ec6978ff0] do_softirq at ffffffff8c6fbdc3 Reproducer: https://github.com/Mellanox/ovs-tests/blob/master/test-ovs-vxlan-remove-tunnel-during-traffic.sh Fix this by waiting for all sk_user_data reader to finish before releasing the sock.
