Cannot delete failed installation files

It seems like the FTP server might be missing some permissions to delete certain files. Below is what I ran into and the circumstances where I ran into it.

I am running into issues when an installation fails through WUP Installer GX2 and there are remnant files in the import directory of my external USB drive I was installing to. The Wii U memory manager cannot delete the garbage data so I try to delete it through FTP using the ftpiiu plugin but when I try to delete the data, I get a 550 error saying I don't have permissions to delete the file, or that I can't delete a folder which appears empty in my FTP browser because it supposedly is not empty (yes, I checked there were no hidden files).

My solution is to copy all my data to a new drive, format this one, and copy the data back. It takes a very long time, as one might imagine. Being able to delete the offending files myself would be much faster.

If the system cannot delete the files, something running under the system isn't going to be able to either. Make sure that you aren't running into hardware issues, the fact that Data Management can't clear the files is rather worrying
