We will start by supporting Debian/Ubuntu and we'll take it from there.. one thing at the time..

Feel free to test it and comment here..


  • Create targets for:
    • amd64
    • x32
  • Grunt builds for:
    • Production
    • Internal
  • Icons
  • Settings (version, release, description, etc)

How about a distribution-neutral AppImage?
Here is one that I have put together for testing purposes:
https://bintray.com/probono/AppImages/Wire#files

Should run on most common desktop Linux distributions. Just download the AppImage, set the executable bit, and run.

That is going to be our next step and we will definitely going to look into your AppImage script as well. Sit tight, most likely we're going to have questions :) We just wanted to start with something and be more familiar with the process, without rushing things up to just make them work.

So we just released it on our website.. More distributions are coming pretty soon! Stay tuned 🐧
